I’ve always thought it would be handy to have a camera in a smartwatch.

What you NEED to know about Smartwatches with cameras
So to save some people a bit of time, I’ll give you a bit of a break down.
If you are looking for a good quality, well known brand smartwatch with a camera, you are out of luck.
For example, does Samsung have a watch with a camera?
Currently no major brands (ie Samsung, Fossil, Apple) have attempted to create a smartwatch with a camera.
There have been rumours and patents filed, but sadly nothing as yet.
That said, there are options, if a smartwatch with a camera is the path you want to take.
There are in fact a whole lot of options.
Many of them cheap (and probably nasty).
Another question many ask is – can a smart watch record video?
The answer to that is very few, but there is the Arrow Smartwatch with is capable of 1080p video.
So I have sifted through all the options and below given you what I believe to be the top 5 camera smartwatches.
Here we go.

★ Best Smartwatch with a Camera Reviews ★
#1 Arrow Smartwatch
If its primarily camera functions you are wanting then the Arrow smartwatch is probably what I would choose.
Why?
A couple of reasons.
It also has the ability to take 1080p video which is great as sometimes when you are on the go it is good to have that option.
Some things are best caught on film.
The watch is also an Indigogo funded project, so the process is open, and there is more accessibility and access to support than other smartwatches bought from big retails and from unknown brands.
Also, the big feature this watch has that others do not, is the ability to rotate the camera around the bezel.
360 degrees.
So you won’t have to put your wrist in awkward positions in order to capture your photo or film.
This is a super handy feature to have, along with the microphone.
The watch is high quality and continues to have improvements made to the functionality and performance via updates.
It is however a little lower specced than some of the above watches.
Unfortunately, technology moves so fast and even though prototypes of the watch were created in only 2016, smartwatch specs have improved by leaps and bounds since.
So there are a few things this watch doesn’t have that the others included in this article might.
Things such as 3g/4g capability, the camera is 5mp, It is only IP65 which means it is wash down capable and dust proof, but not waterproof.
And it also has 8+ 1gb of RAM.

#2 ZUKN IP67waterproof 4G Smart Watch
Zukn make a whole lot of variations of smartwatches with cameras.
Who are Zukn?
No idea, they don’t have a website or much information about who they are.
For some that might not be an issue, but for me it makes me think twice.
Especially given the price range.
However, on paper this looks like a reasonable watch.
It has a 2.03 inch screen which is larger than the Fossil Gen 5.
You are able to put a sim card in the watch and use the watch as a phone with 4g support and hands free calling.
It is waterproof (IP67), runs Android 7.01 OS (not to be confused with Google Wear), has a heart rate monitor , fitness tracker options, music and wifi capabilities.
But I guess the reason I choose to list this watch is the fact it also comes with an 8mp camera, which is one of the highest mp smartwatch cameras currently around.
Now, admittedly, Zukn, have a number of similar watches, however this stood out somewhat in that it has a slightly larger screen, and the ability to take sims.
With no feedback, it is hard to gauge the quality of this product, but one might wonder about the battery life with all the features mentioned above…
Would I buy it?
Personally, I prefer a well known brand and the conform of the support I will get if something goes wrong.
But if you are looking for a smartwatch with a camera, this is, as mentioned above, one of the best smartwatches with a camera available.
Be sure to check out Zukin’s other smartwatches if this style is not to your liking.
PROS
• Large Screen
• Android OS
• 8 MP Camera
• Waterproof
• Takes a Sim Card
• 4G Capable
CONS
• Unknown Brand
• Expensive for an Unknown Brand
#3 QKA Smartwatch
Qka seems to (Slovenian) made watch and also seems to the same watch branded as various brands.
Given that this is an article about a smartwatch with a camera, we would have to mention this as one of the top options given that it has an 8mp camera.
That is the highest resolution we have found so far, with most of the cheaper options being around 0.3- 2mp.
Quite the difference.
The features are comparable to the Zukn mentioned above with 4g & wifi capabilities, a sim card slot, Android 7.1 OS, a nice big 2.03 inch screen, GPS function, fitness tracking, music capabilities and a translation app.
It contains 1gb of ram with 16gb in flash and is IP67, so waterproof to near 1 metres depth.
PROS
• Large Screen
• Android OS
• 8 MP Camera
• Waterproof
• Takes a Sim Card
• 4G Capable
CONS
• Unknown Brand
• Expensive for an Unknown Brand
#4 Zukn Dual Camera Smartwatch
Much like the Zukn watch we mentioned above, this is another choice for a smartwatch with a camera.
It comes with 16 +1 gb memory, a quad core CPU, with 4gb ram.
Equipped with the capacity to take a sim card, you can take calls on the watch, along with capacity for 4g.
It has a number of fitness tracking options along with GPS tracking, heart rate monitoring and motion tracking.
You won’t have to worry if you get it wet it is IP67 waterproof.
It has a number of interface options for your customization, and also runs on Android 7.1 OS.
So what’s the difference with this watch?
It has 2, yes 2, 5mp pixel cameras.
One at the side and one at the top.
PROS
• Dual Cameras
• Android OS
• 5 MP Cameras
• Waterproof
• Takes a Sim Card
• 4G Capable
CONS
• Unknown Brand
• Expensive for an Unknown Brand
#5 Mahipey Smartwatch
There are a whole lot of cheap and nasty camera smartwatches available, many just the same watch rebranded under a different name.
So why did I choose this one?
Well, this did have a whole lot of customer feedback with positive reviews.
Id still take that with a grain of salt as reviews can be manipulated, none-the-less it is better than flying blind.
For its price, it has some pretty nice features, close to what some of the others I have mentioned in terms of functionality (but not quite in specs).
For example, it has a sim card slot, voice recorder, pedometer, sedentary reminder, bluetooth, alarm clock, music capabilities, sleep monitor, fitness tracking, notifications and of course a camera.
Not to mention the apparent 72 hours of battery life.
I mean, that sounds pretty good right?
Over 1000 people seem to think so.
I may not be so easily convinced, but if I had a small budget, and was looking for smartwatch with a camera, this is probably my top consideration.
PROS
• Android OS
• 1.3 MP Camera
• Takes a Sim Card
• 4G Capable
• Music Capabilities
• Cheap
CONS
• Unknown Brand
Final Thoughts
I’d like a smartwatch with a camera.
I might be waiting for ever to find one that has all the features I want, such as a camera, NFC, music, SIM, Wear amongst other things.
But had I been looking for a watch with a camera right now, the Arrow would be my choice, just because of the video option and the rotating bezel.
There is so much convenience in those features, plus I feel much safer purchasing the Arrow than from some unnamed companies.
